A Prayer of Commitment Mothers Union Lincoln Diocese 2018 Almighty God, we thank you for your love and care for us. We thank you for Mothers’ Union and for all it means to so many people across the world. In this year, when we remember our founder Mary Sumner, we pray that you will help us build on the firm foundations laid by her. As she followed in the footsteps of Jesus, caring for those in her community and building up faith, may we too be a part of your mission. When decisions are made in branch, cluster and Diocese, guide our thinking and prepare the way for your power to break through. Into your hands we commit ourselves knowing that we are secure in your love and everlasting grace. We pray in the name of our beloved Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen The Prayer of ST. BENEDICTO GRACIOUS AND HOLY FATHER St Benedict - c480-550Benedict was the father of Western monasticism. He was the first person to try to understand how we can live together with any degree of authenticity. He laid out systems for leadership, ownership, belonging and shared living.
Eternal God,
