Mothers' Union Theme 2018
The MU Theme for 2018 is "In the Footsteps of Mary Sumner"
On Tuesday 25th September there will be an Open day at St Benedict’s to celebrate all that this building has meant to Mothers Union over the last 60 years. Bishop Christopher will come at 2.30pm for a short informal service of thanksgiving for the building and prayers for the future of Lincoln Mothers Union and its work in our Diocese.
As your President I would like to have a display of the time when St Benedict’s was used under License from the Church 1969-90.
And another from the reopening in 1991 to the present day following the agreement with the Church by which Mothers Union had sole responsibility for the upkeep of the building.
If you have any photographs, newspaper reports or memories of these times could you please either post or give them into the office before the 21st September, clearly marked Celebration of St Benedict’s. Please put names on anything you would like returned.
The display will stay in place for visitors and members to see until we close in December. Thank you Elizabeth

Mothers' Union Theme 2019
The MU Theme for 2019 is "Listen, Observe, Act - in step with God"
2019 is a year of new beginnings for Mothers’ Union, with the start of the next triennium, many new officers appointed at all levels of service and updated constitution and structures. It is also the year which sees the coming together of our global conversations to prayerfully inform our way forward as a movement. As we gain clarity about our God-given purpose and direction in both local and global context we will be energised and inspired for what lies ahead. As the future unfolds we will continue to listen and observe in order to act with insight and integrity; neither running ahead nor lagging behind, but always in step with God.
Our theme resources for 2019 have been created both to help engagement in the continuing global listening process and to build faith for the future. Some of the 2018 resources continue to be appropriate for this year’s focus. The materials will be available on the website by the beginning of September.
